The human viruses associated with Astroviridae are the human astroviruses types 1 to 7.  The different types of human astrovirus refer to their different serotypes.  Usually only the first five serotypes are recognized and considered because serotypes 6 and 7 are extremely rare (only one case of serotype 6 infection and only two cases of serotype 7 infection have been reported).
