Orthomyxoviridae is a family of viruses.

"Orthomyxo" means "true mucous"

Orthomyxoviridae have similar envelope glycoproteins

as Paramyxoviridae ("alongside mucous")

Orthomyxoviridae include viruses that cause the flu

in humans, pigs, and birds.

Influenza has seasonality in that it appears more often

in the winter.

Here is a picture of what the virions look like.
