- New Jersey to Manhattan by car
- Early afternoon - Doug drove us into
Manhattan and dropped us off at our flat - 30 Commerce Street, West Village
- Go to Amy's Bread Cafe shop with Wendy - 250 Bleecker Street, The Village - coffee and croissant
- Zarek came over at 5
- Dinner at Left Bank - 117 Perry Street - with Zarek and Wendy
- Back to flat
- Walk with Zarek to subway - 14th Street Station and 7th

December 27, 2017 Wednesday - Manhattan
- Walk to West 4th Street, Washington Square Station
- Subway uptown, buy subway card
- Walk across Central Park along the reservoir
- Meet up with Zarek, Kyler, and Siyeona at Bluestone Cafe for lunch
- Walked in Central Park with Wendy, Zarek, Kyler, and Siyeona
- Went to Belvedere Castle, then to The Ramble to look for birds
- Stop at Boathouse for snacks - I did not get anything
- Walked down Fifth Avenue - shop windows, Christmas lights
- Back to the apartment
- Order in Chinese Food from Tasty-Tasty

- Walked from flat to Hudson River with Wendy
- Wendy stopped at Starbucks
- Walked the High Line in both directions
- Chelsey Market
- CVS on Christopher Street to get drinks for flat
- Ordered in Pizza
- Subway to Lincoln Center
- Nutcracker at Lincoln Center with Wendy, Zarek, Calum, Kyler, and Siyeona
- New York City Ballet, David Koch Theatre – Columbus Avenue at 63rd Street -
4th ring seat C4 – good view high up but center in first row of balcony
- Wendy and I took subway back to flat

- Vesellka for brunch with Wendy, Zarek, Calum, Kyler, and Siyeona - all the kids showed up late - blintzes
- Walked with Wendy, Kyler, and Siyeona to coffee shop but did not stay
- Walk across Williamburg Bridge with Wendy
- Bread Brothers Café Bagel shop - 349 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn - picked up bagels and chive cheese
- Car to Brooklyn Bridge
- Walk across Brooklyn Bridge with Wendy at Sunset
- Subway to flat
- Ordered Indian food

- Bagel at flat
- Walk to subway - 14th Street Station and 7th
- Subway solo to top of park (Central Park North 110th Street) where I met Zarek
- Walk in Central Park with Zarek
- Subway to Broadway
- Starbucks with Zarek
- Kinky Boots matinee with Wendy, Zarek, Kyler, and Siyeona - Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302) West 45th Street) - Mezzanine C Q 111 - return engagement by original cast
- Subway to Soho

December 31, 2017 Sunday - Manhattan
- Lox and bagels at flat
- Subway uptown
- Kyler's flat for focaccia (made by Siyeona), coffee, blueberries, Zarek came late
- Walk in Central Park with Wendy and Zarek
- Grocery shopping with Zarek for his party (get lox, onions, tomatoes, and blueberries for breakfast)
- Car back to Zarek's apartment
- Check out his apartment
- Zarek walked with us to subway station
- Subway back to Washington Square station
- Dinner at A.O.C. (L'aile ou la Cuisse, 314 Bleecker Street) -
French restaurant near our flat - duck with brandy confit
- Walk back to flat

January 1, 2018 Monday - Manhattan
- Meet up with Wendy Miller in Washington Square Park
- She walked with us to the Union Square
- Wendy went to Starbucks
- Subway to meet kids for brunch at Blake Lane 1429 Third Avenue
- Walk with Zarek down east side - Schutz Park
- John Finley walk
- Took subway back to West Village
- Talked Rodney Pulley - a photographer - on the subway
- Linger by myself to take pictures of the Washington Square Arch at night
- Walk back to flat - leftovers for dinner
- Walk to Jazz club near flat
- Mezzrow Jazz with Zarek, Kyler, Siyeona, and Wendy -
- Sat right next to musicians - Trio - piano, guitar, bass (Kyler had taken a lesson from the guitarist at Stanford Jazz Camp!)
- Walk back to our flat with the kids to talk

Summit
- Pack up
- Breakfast at the flat
- Doug drove into New York to shuttle up back to
New Jersey

to Doug for shuttling us to and from the EWR and Manhattan,
for our many ping pong sessions, and for many excellent meals (including grape jelly),
to Doug and Bob for hosting us in Summit,
